Abstract. Mica constitutes a group of hydrous aluminum silicate minerals. Their characteristic crystalline structure forms layers that can be cleaved into very thin sheets. Mica crystals range in size from a few centimeters to several meters. They have a wide range of colors, from green or purple to almost colorless.
